Did you know that Korea was once one of world’s top 3 leading countries in manufacturing watches?

To reenact the glories of the 1970’s, we wished to borrow the masteries of the experts.

The know-how and long experience of few master artisans of watches in Korea are combining their efforts to create a true Korean watch that can be proudly presented into the global market.

Brand Identity

A watch is the last accessory that a person chooses and wears, and our foundation is that a watch must have a very basic and classic design and mood. We wanted to create a product that doesn’t feel awkward in any circumstances, good for gifts to those that we cherish, and a product that we might feel pride. It might not be the top-class quality, but HARRIOT put great efforts in designing a good-quality product that does not harm the skin, without minor defects, and a product that can be worn lightly for a long period of time.

Logo Story

HARRIOT wishes to include the Korean touch in the product. However, the traditional beauty of Korea that anyone can think of was excluded, but modern touch was added. Among them, one of the modern architectures and the valuable historical landmark of ‘Historic Site No. 32’, Dongnimmun Gate has inspired in the birth of HARRIOT logo.

When many brands decide on the product or collection name, they are inspired by a city or famous person that represents the country, or a meaning event occurred in a special year. HARRIOT also considered including the unique meaning and Korean touch, and was inspired from the ‘Bridges’. Bridges are architectures that were essential from the ancient time to the modern civilization, but it is not easy to construct them without high-level architectural techniques. Also, the aesthetic value by its own existence had something in connection with the vision pursued by HARRIOT.

Gayang Collection

Harriot introduces you to its Gayang Collection inspired by the Gayang Daegyo Bridge, the longest steel box girder bridge in Korea (1,700m) that connects the northern and southern banks of Hangang River for the western districts of Seoul.

Given its construction technique, the bridge posts supporting Gayang Daegyo Bridge are farther apart compared to most other bridges on Hangang River. It gives off an extremely neat and simple image, which is why the bridge was the perfect motif for Harriot’s first watch series

Seohae Collection

Harriot’s second collection, the Seohae Collection, was inspired by Seohae Daegyo Bridge that connects Chungcheong-do with Gyeonggi-do. Built with 100% Korean technology,

Seohae Daegyo Bridge has been hailed for its contributions to the Korean civil engineering sector. The cable-stayed section of Seohae Daegyo Bridge is the largest of its kind in Korea. As noted, the bridge helped advance civil engineering technology in Korea, but more importantly for Harriot, it was designed to emulate the outlines of the Flagpole Support (Treasure No. 537) in Eupnae-ri (Asan-si, Chungcheongnam-do). This design gave the bridge a distinctly Korean-style of beauty which, in turn, inspired the design of Harriot’s second collection.

Gwangan Collection

The final collection from Harriot breaks away from the brand’s usual classical style. Rather, it gives off a more casual and familiar impression. Specifically, the collection feels perfect for wearing at a vacation spot during the summer holidays.

Harriot presents its Gwangan Collection inspired by the Gwangan Daegyo Bridge in Busan - one of the best vacation destinations in Korea, and home to some beautiful, long-stretching beaches as well as, of course, Gwangan Daegyo Bridge.

Seongsan Collection

Launched in 2018, this new collection from Harriot can trace its origins back to Seongsan-ro (a road that connects Dongnimun Gate with the southern banks of Seongsan Daegyo Bridge).

It was inspired by Seongsan Daegyo Bridge, which features a distinct aesthetic look that harmoniously blends straight lines and oriental-style curves created by the semi-circular shapes found on the bridge’s outer frame.

Dobo Collection

Inspired by the “Foot Bridge” that served as a meeting point between the North and South Korean leaders on Friday, April the 27th, 2018, Harriot wanted to create a product to celebrate the moment, and hope for peace and prosperity moving forward for both Koreas.

As a high-end, limited edition product, each timepiece from Harriot’s new collection will come with a luxurious wooden box, new hour plate design, sapphire glass, crocodile pattern genuine leather strap, and butterfly-type buckle unlike any of its previous models.

Harriot changed the color of the hour index at 4 o’clock, the 27 in the date window, and F (Friday) in the day window to a blue color. Given that only a limited number of products will be made available for retail, each product will bear a serial number on the back cover of the watch and inside the warranty certificate.
